Bayou City Blues Mission Statement

Challenge to BCB Staff:

To provide the corps with a varied program of activities which challenge its members and seeks to advance and promote the drum corps image and the reputation of the Bayou City Blues, the drum corps activity at large, and the rich traditions of Texas and the Southern United States.

To bring together a group of individuals whose primary focus is the growth and advancement of the Bayou City Blues, its activities and objectives.

To be responsive to the needs of the membership so they will be motivated and challenged toward attaining their personal best, and reaching beyond.

Challenge to BCB Membership:

Willingness - to sacrifice personal interest, personal preference and personal time in order to promote and advance the goals of the corps as a whole; to be open-minded to understand that we come from different backgrounds and have different experiences, but that we must work as one to achieve quality and excellence.

Commitment - to the program established by the staff, and to believe that, regardless of your personal feelings, the staff has weighed the concerns, ideas, needs, and goals of the membership, and has planned the best possible program to meet those needs and goals.

Dedication - to the corps and its activities, by striving to meet its rehearsal and performance commitments, and doing so with a positive attitude, which will influence other members, create a pleasant atmosphere within the corps and enhance the quality of our performance.

Challenge to the Corps as a Whole:

Through our willingness, commitment, and dedication, we will strive to bring quality entertainment to our audiences.

To provide an atmosphere of friendship and family within the corps which spans generations and lasts a lifetime.

To develop a sense of Corps Pride to meet the challenge of excellence in our activities, and by doing so, propel the Bayou City Blues, and the drum corps activity into the future.
