Encompass Services Corporation, a 3 billion dollar a year, Fortune 500 company, asked us to play for their July "Corporate Celebration." And coincidently it's where I work. Being a work day the full corps couldn't attend, but we did managed a nice ensemble.
We performed the Star Spangled Banner and Phantom Regiments' Amazing Grace. The non-drum corps audience was at first very apprehensive seeing 7 bugles aimed right at their heads. But once they realized we weren't going assault their eardrums with a lot of blasting and noise (this isn't marching band, it's DRUM CORPS) they got into it and were very appreciative. (I heard nothing but good comments all week)
Special thanks to Mike (Pud) Palmquist for helping us out. He's now an honorary member, much like a corps mascot.
We were small, but well balanced.
Dena, with no gloves! You can't touch a Kanstul without gloves! It's disrespectful.
Yes, that's Mike playing a Euphonium. Go figure.
After playing Contra for 6 months with the Brigadiers Jason was having a really hard time.
Horn angle? What's a horn angle? (we were just trying to get through the charts without dying)
Scott was the center of attention. Hey, chicks dig the big horns.
