For the first time the corps marched the show playing the horns. Previously we had been using a tape of the midi file in order to learn the drill a little faster.
This was also the first joint rehearsal with the MCM Color Guard and the percussionist. It went extremely smooth. By the end of the night the horns and drums had locked in a good tempo and were able to do the show up to the point where we're stopping for the first contest. (We'll save the Grand Finale for the second contest) The guard went all night without killing any horns, which is ALWAYS a good thing.
The double Chevron set before the Soprano trio.
Another shot of the Chevron set. Dude, is Dena red or what?!?! This girl must be wailing pretty hard.
This is the Diamond Power set on the move.
We're marching in pretty close quarters with the guard. We may have to rehearse marching over or around an unconscious horn player in the event that someone gets knocked out during a show!
Marching backwards playing the big power chords after the blues section of Summertime.
In this set the guard is going to toss their flags OVER the hornline. I think some of the hornline members look a bit nervous. We're considering wearing hardhats!
The 2001-2002 MCM Winter Guard.
"Uhhh..., what are those old guys with horns doing here?"
It's going to hurt getting hit with one of these.
MCM doing a really cool routine during the jam session after the blues section of Summertime.
"We're sure!"
Nice picture of the hornline in a company front. We're still working on those horn angles!
Check out the pretty bugles!
Scott and Jason wailing.
The "Jazz Band" set. This set is going to be really cool once we get it set right and start adding visuals.
Opening set.
"Ladies and gentlemen: The Gulf Coast Sound low brass line. We're all playing Kanstuls!! With 2 Baris, a Euph, and 2 Contras, we're going to rattle some teeth!!
